I got a package in the mailll!

I got my coastal scents palette in the mail today! It was like opening a present on Christmas day! Along with the original 88 palette I ordered, they also put in a little sample gift. It's a sample size of their West Gold Indies pigment. It's a very very very pigmented shimmery brown gold color. It's very pretty!

I haven't got a chance to use the palette yet so when I do get to use it, I will write a review!  I should be getting my MAC order in the mail pretty soon. Another package I'm super excited for! :]

I'm back...with a MAC HAUL! :D

So I know I've been gone for a billion years, but I'm back with a Mac Haul. :] I had a chance and the dinero to go up to the CCO and order some Mac stuff straight from the website, and I figured I'd share it with all you lovlies <3

First at the Cosmetic Company Outlet, I picked up three Mac eyeshadows and a blush.
I picked up Very Violet. It's a pretty medium purple and it's a frost.  Very very pretty and discontinued :(

For some reason I'm obsessed with dark browns, so I picked up another called Cross Cultural. Just a bit lighter than the color Show Stopper, but nonetheless matte.

The last eyeshadow I picked up at the CCO was called Firecracker from the To the Beach collection. It's this SUPER pretty coraly pink red color. It's a veluxe pearl. Mmm. I love it.

The blush I picked up was from the Liberty of London and Mac collection. It's called Prim and Proper. It's my first blush ever so we'll see!

Online I ordered an empty Pro Palette so I can depot all of my eyeshadows and have them all in one palette!
I also picked up a pan of the eyeshadow, Wedge. Gosh. I'm super excited. :]

Thanks guys for reading and adding. I just ordered the classic 88 Palette from Coastal Scents. I hope it comes soon. I am super excited! :]

Review: Revlon Photo Ready Liquid Foundation

So I think I've fallen in love with a NEW liquid foundation and its name is Revlon PhotoReady Foundation in 002 Vanilla. I've used it for 2+ weeks, day after day and it has definitely surprised me since I first tried it.

Revlon PhotoReady Liquid Foundation in 002 Vanilla

When I first tried it, I thought wow, the consistency is super thin, I don't think it will give me the coverage I want and need. After I started blending and had finished putting it on all over my face, I was amazed. I always had trouble blending the ColorStay foundation into my skin tone. The Revlon ColorStay in 150 buff was just too thick, dried too fast and the fact that it didn't have a pump bothered me. Unlike it's counterpart, Revlon PhotoReady has a pump which easily allows you to control how much you can apply and blends super fast.
I haven't had any issues with the little tiny specs of glitter in it, but I haven't taken close enough pictures to actually see the difference. The price was originally $11.99 but I got $3 off to pay only $8.99.

Here are some swatches. :]

Out of 5 Stars, I give this foundation, 4/5 stars. Yay!
Pros: Easily Blendable, Pump Applicator, Medium Coverage, SPF 20
Cons: Bit Pricey, Not the best foundation for pictures

8 Tips for Dying your hair AT HOME!

So yeah, after 14 months (YES I WAS COUNTING!), I had not dyed my hair in a quest to truly see what my natural hair color was and to even possibly go to a shade or two lighter. I've always wanted to go to the salon but always was afraid of two things, price and damage. To those who do, feel lucky! Of course, not everyone can afford to go to the salon and get a $100 dye job or highlights every three months. If you're like me and definitely cannot afford salon prices, but want to get the same look, here are some tips I've picked up over the many many many home hair dyes I've done on myself and others!

  1. Hair is best dyed one day old. So shower the day before and the color will take best to your hair when all your natural oils are present.
  2. Wear a t-shirt that you don't wear anymore or one that already has stains on it because I can guarantee you will get dye on your shirt. Don't ruin a good t-shirt!
  3. Keep a wet wash cloth (preferably a older one!) to wipe up any hair dye you may drop on the sink, ground, etc. Chances are you might just drip a little bit down and you don't want your nice tile or white sink stained a dirty brown because you didn't wipe it up or missed it! (I've done it before!)
  4. Ever get stains from your hair dye along your hair line or ears...or even face? Try applying vasoline right along your hair line, but not on it, and the vasoline protects the dye from staining your face. :]
  5.  Keep a nice size hair clip handy to clip up your hair when you have to wait for the dye to set.
  6. After you've applied the dye and put your hair up in a clip, try putting a shower cap, or even a plastic bag (tied close to your head) to trap the heat from your head, allowing the dye to penetrate your hair better. This also helps to keep it mess free too while waiting!
  7. Dying your hair can be simple, but sometimes you just need a friend or family member to help you get the spots you sometimes can't get.
  8. Your hair length shoulder length or longer? I suggest you buy TWO boxes of your color of choice. Don't want to realize after you emptied the first bottle on just your roots, that you DID need that second box of hair dye. Better SAFE than SORRY!

I hope this helped guys. I know some of you are thinking, well aren't these tips common sense? Some people are new to this hair dying stuff and if I would of had these tips when I first began, my bathroom would be a lot less spotted, and I would of saved a lot of money too. Hair dye is a fun way to change up your look whether you want to do darker or lighter. If you make a mistake, don't be afraid. Hair always grows back ;D hah.

How To: Apply/Remove False Eyelashes!

Have you ever looked at a makeup ad or saw a girl walking past with full fabulous lashes? Well here's their secret:  it wasn't just a bit of mascara and an eyelash curler darling. It's these amazing false eyelashes sometimes also known as falsies, that help these girls achieve tremendous volume and length. False eyelashes can transform your look from great to WOW what a knockout! Your eyes will be more inviting and if you can put them on correctly, no one will be able to guess that they aren't your real ones! If you're ready to learn, read below for your EASY, step by step guide to applying falsies!

My FAVORITE eyelashes @ $3.99 Ardell's #105 in Black

What you'll need:
-a set of false eyelashes (any brand will work!) My favorite's are the Ardell 105's (Only $3.99!)
-Lash glue ( i like Lash Grip. You can get it at the drugstore)
-a toothpick or a mechanical pencil(clean with no lead)

Step 1: Pull off the eyelashes from the packaging. Companies use a bit of adhesive to hold them in place. You Should NOT use this adhesive as it isn't for holding the lashes on your lash line. Remove any adhesive left from the package.

Step 2: Place the eyelashes where you're going to apply them. If they're too long for your eye shape, trim them, starting from the outside (longer side) of the strip as you don't want to trim the shorter side because it might look funny. I like to grab each end of the lashes and roll it in the arch like they're gonna go on the shape of your eye. It helps loosen them up and will help later in the ease of application.

Step 3: I squeeze a bead size of glue onto the back of my hand and take my tooth pick or mechanical pencil and get some on the tip. Take the eyelashes and apply a thin little thread of glue onto the lash line.

Step 4: Let glue dry for about 30 seconds for it to become tacky and hold on. The smaller end will go in the corner. Close your eye just a little bit, but not all the way and set the smaller side RIGHT above your lash line. Apply the rest of the false eyelash strip onto your lash line, slightly pushing onto the corners then the middle to adhere the white glue to your skin. You'll feel when it adheres because it won't feel so liquidy.

Step 5: Repeat step 3 and 4 again on the opposite eye.

Step 6: Your eye lids WILL feel heavy. The key is to make sure the lashes are glued on so they won't come off in the middle of your day! The glue is white but will dry clear. If you still see a tiny bit of glue, you can apply black liquid eyeliner or a black eyeshadow with a angled eyeliner pencil to hide the fact you're wearing fake eyelashes!

Step 7: To mesh your real eyelashes with your falsies, you can use your favorite mascara and apply it just as you were to apply it without the false eyelashes. I have found that Maybelline's "Lash Stylist" Mascara (Which i think is discontinued :[ ) helps bond the falsies and your real eyelashes because of the comb, instead of the brush applicator. You don't have to have this mascara, but I have personally found it helpful.

Removal/Up Keep of False Eyelashes

To remove falsies:  Use a makeup remover (liquid or wipe) and hold it against your eye and eyelashes for 30-60 seconds to help remove makeup. This should help partially remove the lashes. Now, starting from the outside corner, pull the lashes off slowly so you don't hurt your eyelid! It shouldn't be painful unless you have maybe sensitive skin. Once you have taken them off, use a makeup remover wipe to remove any excess mascara and glue left on the eyelashes. Now that they are clean, put them back inside their plastic packaging so you may use them next time!

I hope this helped you guys out. Once you've practiced putting them on over and over you can be a master at making them look like they're your own lashes! Don't forget, falsies come in many colors, lengths and sizes so don't be afraid to try something new!
Yep, that's me with just falsies and black gel eyeliner.

Have an amazing day. Don't forget! If you have any questions, comments or concerns, leave a comment! :]

Celebrity Makeup Icon: Nicki Minaj

The first person in my series of "Celebrity Makeup Icons", Nicki Minaj is for those of you who haven't heard of her, is a female artist signed to Young Money Entertainment. She has arrived quite quickly in her own right seemingly out of nowhere. This fabulous girl came from the streets of Brooklyn and now is on every hot song on every top 40/hip hop radio station in the United States. According to some, she has the female rap game on lock and honestly, it doesn't look like she's going anywhere. She has revived the female rap game and won't be stopping anytime soon.

Her personal style is a mixture of  Harajuku barbie, the ultra sexy American version, if there ever was one. The harajuku aka Lolita stems from Japanese culture. The lolita style is very victorian with frilly lace, pink but also with bright colors, wigs and some intense makeup. This lolita style is limited to just lace and bright colors, but can also vary to a gothic side while still keeping that girlie girl image (if that makes sense!). This style is very over the top, but I absolutely love it. I don't think my description did the Lolita style justice, so just google it if you want to see more pictures!

I picked Nicki Minaj for this because she isn't afraid to go beyond what is considered "normal". She is in my opinion a style leader and is beautiful. Even MAC noticed her amazing presence and crazy out there style and gave her, her own exclusive lipstick called Pink 4 Friday. It's this amazing baby pink colored lipstick which you could only purchase on four Fridays in November and December, ONLINE. I wish I had picked one up but never got one. Anyone able to pick it up? Share with me what you think about it!

Her makeup is quite inspiring and her style overall might push it to the limits but it's seriously cute as all get up. I honestly think she is a beautiful female, inspiring other women to look their best even when they don't have that confidence. She isn't afraid to push the limits or be sexy. Let me know what your thoughts are! Oh yeah guys, Happy New Year! Hope your 2011 will be ten times better than 2010. :]
